When the Scientist is away, the only really difficult part is the moment when I get into bed and turn out the light. I lie there listening to the house's creaks and pops, and pray Psalm 4:8 (RSV), "In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for thou alone, O Lord, makest me dwell in safety." And the Lord does, and I sleep. When I wake, I check off another night. Two down, zero to go. Thanks be to God.
Amie misses him as much as I do. Last night I found one of his shoes in her bed.

That is definitely the hardest time of day when the beloved is away. What a sweet girl Amie is!
I think she is the sweetest-natured dog I've ever had. She is a joy.
I hope your sweet girl is feeling well today.
Oh, how sweet!
Glad he's home for you both tonight.

When Ginger is away, I end up sleeping on the couch with the Schnauzers; I don't even like to get in the bed by myself. And the first night I mostly roam the house without much sleep. The pooches are good comfort.
Peace,
Milton
Milton, I know the dogs are good comfort, and good company. Amie certainly is that to me, and she's a good listener too.
I am happy to report to all of y'all that the Scientist arrived home safely, and both of his girls were very glad to see him. The whole pack is together again.
Welcome to RevGalBlogPals - I hope you find the group as wonderful as I do!
A shoe. How sweet. I have trouble too when hubby is away. Welcome to revgalblogpals.
