Oddly familiar meme

Dogblogger tagged me for this one.

Rules:
The rules of the game get posted at the beginning.
Each player answers the questions about himself or herself.
At the end of the post, the player then tags five people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know they’ve been tagged and asking them to read your blog.

Ten years ago:
Ten years ago, I had just escaped from a job I hated (the only job I ever had where I would cry in the car on the way to work), and had started working in a group practice headed by a psychiatrist friend and three of his colleagues. That practice imploded about two years later, but it was a pretty good two years. I learned a lot about pain management, and enjoyed working with the other therapists and doctors in the practice.

Five things on today's "to do" list (we'll make this "tomorrow", since today's nearly over):
- Clean up the back yard (again!)
- Send my billing service a long convoluted email about an old account
- Review drafts of narratives that other PNC members and I have written for our CIF (Church Information Form, for non-Presbys--the document that prospective candidates will read to learn about our church)
- Confirm whether or not we will be attending the local Chowhound dinner in June
- Vacuum the foyer and the major dog zones

Things I'd do if I were a billionaire:
- Endow a scholarship at my alma mater
- Pay off our church's mortgage, including what we owe on the land adjacent to the church
- Upgrade local animal shelters...or something else related to animal rescue, I'm not sure what
- Give lots more to our favorite charities
- Travel wherever I wanted, whenever I wanted, for as long as I wanted!

Three bad habits:
- Spending too much time on teh internets
- Getting into the candy jar at work
- Cussing

Five places I've lived:
- Greenville, Mississippi
- Memphis, Tennessee
- San Antonio, Texas
- Pasadena, California
- Houston, Texas

Five jobs I've had:
- Envelope stuffer
- Drug store clerk
- Day care center worker
- School psychologist
- Clinical psychologist

Five people I'm tagging:
This one went around, in a slightly different form, several months ago, and I think most people have done it. If you haven't, and you'd like to, consider yourself tagged!

I love your list! I especially like what you would do if you had lots of money!

Nice play! Oh, and cussing should've made my list of bad habits, too. The Alpha woke me up last night to ask me what kind of dream I was having because I was talking in my sleep, rather forcefully. I can't remember anything about dreaming last night, but I said something about needing to start a "f***ing insurrection."

I had a 3-hour church politics meeting that evening, so maybe that had something to do with it?

I should have put cussing in my bad habits. I've been known to let a few slip out, one time in the sanctuary. Thank god it wasn't during a worship service.

Good play!

I don't cuss a lot, but it is too much. I don't mind some of it, but I really should break myself of dropping the f-bomb when I'm really angry. (I usually only do it in front of the husband, though, and usually when talking about bad drivers or stupid bureaucracies--never about him.)

WHat, pray tell, is a chowhound dinner?

And I should've added cussing to my list, too. I gave it up for Lent, and it is mostly out of my upper consciousness now, but for some reason at my sister's house this weekend I kept busting loose! In front of her kids! Fortunately (?) they have a "Swear Jar" so I got to put a lot of money in it. Most of the swearing they do is words like "fat" and "stupid." I was not using those words! :O

A Chowhound dinner is one attended by local foodlovers who post their opinions and restaurant discoveries on the appropriate regional board at Chowhound.com, the non-RevGal site I frequent most often. We used to have local Chowhound dinners, a few years ago, but it sort of fizzled out. Now a whole new group of people wants to get them going again, and I'm all for that.

I saw a book the other day called something like "Tame Your Tongue in 30 Days"! Maybe we all need it!

I had a job I cried on my way to. Teaching middle school (not my cup of tea) with a nasty lead teacher. Fortunately is was only Feb - May. Glad life is better for both of us now.
