A short course in aesthetics

In the Mississippi Delta, where I grew up, planters often place a bug trap like this one at the end of a row of cotton or soybeans. By regularly checking its contents, they can estimate how many pests are in the crop and know when to spray for them.

This is a Tuscan vineyard bug trap.

That is one of those things I just never considered when pondering pesticides. Amazing. Farming is the all knowledge vocation.

good grief. We are surrounded by those stupid looking bug traps, here, too.
