More spring babies
About a block from our church is a small lake in the midst of a residential area. A number of ducks and geese live there, and nesting season has begun. This mama waddled all the way to the church, seeking a secluded corner to lay her eggs. I pray that she and her eggs will be undisturbed. I'm told that a duck made a nest in this same spot last year, so perhaps it will work out OK.
Today's Fun Fact: Muscovy duck eggs are incubated for 35 days. So we should have some little ducks shortly before Easter!

Oh how cool!
And I do not even have a window in my office!
That same thing happened in the flowerbed by my brother's front door when I was in college. Happened to be over there doing my laundry when they hatched... it was amazing!
Neat--we have a pair of mallards that visit our yard around Easter every year.
That is so sweet! A Presbyterian duck mama! She looks very comfy there in her nest. If you can, please share pics of the kids when they're born.
I love this! Reminds me of when my ex-husband surprised me with a pair of baby ducks the day before Easter, many years ago. A local nature center lent them out to willing people to hand-raise. Good musicians that we were, We named our babies Paul Duckas (Dukas) and Gustav Mallard (Mahler). Funny little creatures! I'd love to see pictures after the little ones hatch.
