Beyond my powers

My coworkers and I are still puzzling over an unusual communique received today: a hastily scrawled note on a doctor's prescription pad, requesting,"Please evaluate ________ for speech and personality delay."

If I knew an effective treatment for "personality delay", I'd be a wealthy woman.

Do you remember the show "Designing Women." One of the later characters claimed she'd been diagnosed with obnoxious personality disorder. I've known a few of those! Personality delay - that's a puzzle.

My guess is that the doctor meant delays in social interaction; not sure why he didn't just say that.
