Sabbatical

That's how I've decided to treat the next six weeks...can't work, can't drive, can't do much of nothin' but I can take advantage of the time I've always wanted to have at home. This is how my typical weekday is shaping up:

7:00 get up, shower and put on fresh nightgown, have breakfast with the Scientist
8:00-12:30 check e-mail, blogs, etc. etc. and read on the couch (I'll share what I'm reading in another post)
12:30-1:00 sit up, make a sandwich
1:00 creep upstairs (slowly, oh so slowly, and backwards) and watch Northern Exposure
2:00-5:00 (after creeping back downstairs) take a nap
5:00-7:00 dawdle around, attend to Amie, put casserole in oven (Casseroles! Do we have casseroles!)
7:00-10:00 eat and hang out with the Scientist
10:00 and so to bed.

Not bad for now, but I think it will start getting old soon. Also, I probably won't need quite so much nappage in a couple of weeks. I am planning to use this time to read, certainly, but also to write; and I will be spending more time in prayer too.

Anyway, that's my day. How was yours?

Oh, I hope that whatever you're recovering from heals quickly.

My day has been busy. Grocery shopping, writing, and weekly Bible study group. All I have to make for Thanksgiving is a carrot cake. I'll do that tomorrow.

Smokey sends love to Amie and tells her to give you healing slurps. He thinks that always helps.

I love the going-up-stairs-backwards strategy. Do what works!

My day was good, but I'm feeling the pressure of post-Thanksgiving at work already. Not to mention the pressure of Thanksgiving between now and then. Oh, and one more day at the office.

Perhaps we can talk over the weekend?

You and I would be quite a pair on the stairs right now! It's particularly entertaining to watch me going down with the gamey knee.

Hope you're coming down the right way soon!

Enjoy your time off as much as possible and as a friend of mine says to those who are sick "Enjoy your drugs."

just checking...

Healing thoughts and prayers are now speeding your way from So Cal!!

Backwards up the stairs sounds just as YouTube fun as my cleaning the cat box with an extreme back muscle spasm!

May God's healing spirit be upon you...

I have looked at Saturdays as a Sabbatical from my job. Most of Sundays too, but my students, my boss and even myself ;') expect me to be a teacher on Monday.

good luck with those stairs, and those casseroles.

Gee, this sounds perfectly lovely...for about two days.

Hope you recover quickly! Here's hoping that you will also receive a huge burst of creative energy and you can write to your heart's content!

Can I come over and just hang out? I can make bread while I am there and we can just talk.

I think you have a lot to teach me.

prayers for healing - and thanksgivings for the casseroles... casseroles always speed recovery times!

How's your progress? I'm behind on reading blogs, so just now seeing this. I have some time off coming soon - if I don't wear myself out trying to get every thing done before my time off! Prayers for continued healing.
